::So. It's time for me to follow an incredibly silly idea. That has been approved of by Jinn, Ozma and Linka.

A) You can find a pale-white haired woman at the Domino pier, overlooking the recently salvaged wreck of the ship Ancient Fairy Dragon had been using to find... someone who doesn't exist and never did exist.

She's wearing a mourning veil, contemplating something, something so long ago, another life. A place in time.

B) There's a young woman with the same pale-white hair working in or around the rail line to Duel Academia, on either end, she's wearing a Top Gun baseball hat. Two of them in fact. She's clearly always been working here and the the former employee hasn't been hypnotized or stuffed into a locker.

C) You can instead find her at night, with a green haired young lady with fox ears, conversing among each other, at the same rail lines, late at night. She seems to be tired, and writing in a notebook over and over.

D) There's a wizardly young woman with honey blonde hair, wearing glasses and possibly a cloak and witch's hat, playing with the animals in the Spirit Garden at the Spirit-Arcadia Institute, or the City Park. Or the hole in the ground where Kaikori used They seem to trust her despite her not having been around before(?).

E) The same witch is in Carcosa's Throne Room, packing up a Game Cube and stuffing a shower set up into a bag of holding. This might be most likely available for the Briar sisters or Sumiho the younger. She's wearing a T-Shirt.::

*Ruka watches as Valerifawn happily accepts the pets. Smiling, Ruka decides to sit down and join in petting the small spirits.*

I've always had quite a connection to spirits too. I'm glad I was able to work here where I get to interact with them and research them daily.

T-Thanks. It means a lot. I've had too many names in my life and the last one I had... feels weird now.

::She picks up and nuzzles a Spore, whispering to it.::

... I wish I could do that. The. Research and interacting part. It sounds nice. And peaceful.

... Let's... frame it like this: I have a black company employer, a long term relationship I'm not sure was ever real, I'm not sure if I dreamed up where my last name came from, and I'm in a bit of a hairy situation in general.

Basically I'm not in the mental or emotional space right now.

*Ruka takes a moment, noticing just how burned out she looked. Giving a sympathetic smile, she gives a nod.*

I understand. I don't fully know your situation, but you should definitely take what time you can to rest and look after yourself, if you can.

And if being here with these little ones helps, then you can come and visit anytime you like, during office hours.

Definitely try to take that invitation into consideration, but I expect to be awfully busy soon.

So what do you study about Spirits? What makes you interested in them?

Well, I study most things about them, like habitats, personalities, preferred foods, but I really have an interest in the bonds they can develop with people and what can develop from that.

And, I guess my interest stems from the fact that I've grown up being able to sense, see and hear them, even before they became visible to everyone. I've always been very sensitive to them, so I naturally want to learn more about them and help others understand them.

I spend a lot of time studying the spirits we have here and around the city, but I also study them in their more natural environments around the 12 Dimensions.

Ah. That's awful risky for a human. The 12 Dimensions are... much more untamed reality than Japan.

... I'd say Earth but the news reports are getting weird, you know.

Well, we only go to places we mainly have permission to go to, or are generally safe enough.

And, yeah, things have kinda gotten a bit weird lately here.

It's kinda scary that Japan's being called "The Last Safe Place" and "The Eden of the East".

::Laughing nervously.::

So. Where's the last place you went...?

Well, the last place we went was a while ago... our exploration lead who owns the airship we use to travel dimensions had to have some time off for a bit, but he's starting back here this week.

But the last place we went... hmm... *She thinks.* ... I can't quite remember the most recent place since it's been a while, but we go to places such as Naturia Forest, Zombie World, Hero City, Gem-Knight Domain, Makai, Hyperborea, the Machine World, Oceanus... those are some of the places we have general permission to go to.

It's interesting to learn about the rather... unique ecology in some of these places, as well as things such as customs these worlds have.

Man, Zombie World is such a strange place.

An entire realm of the dead imitating the living world.

::Shudders a bit.::

I wonder if Balerdroch and Red-Eyes are still locked in an arms race...

Ah, I take it you've been there yourself, then?

And yeah, it really is a very strange place. Definitely takes a lot of getting used to and even then, I don't think I'll ever be fully used to it.

Once, to deal with something called Skull Flame.

::She gets up stretching, and gently hugs a Shining Friendship.::

*Standing up herself, Ruka smiles as Blair hugs the Shining Friendship.*

Would you like to give the spirits some food?

I'm on food duty as our usual caretaker of the Spirit House isn't in today.

Oh sure. That'd be lovely, Ms. Terasaki.

::Laughs a bit happily.::

Alright then! Follow me and we can prepare the food for them to give out.

::Follows after you, swinging her arms.::

*Ruka leads her to a door at the back of the Spirit House, that has... an unusual amount of security for just a food storage room. She looks around, then carefully keys in a code into a keypad.
A lock clicks, but she then has to remove a bigger lock bolting the door.*

You need the food to be locked behind a keypad? That seems excessive.

::Laughs.::

*She lets out a little chuckle.*

There's one particular spirit who lives here who constantly attempts to break into our food store and eat our entire supply of carrots, so we've had to put some extra security onto the door.

Oh that sort.

I'm just used to putting those in circles.
